a brief list

1. Finished my 60-page master's thesis draft.
2. The Sox just hit four home runs in a row, tying the ML record.
3. Theo Epstein is looking smokin' hot, as always.
4. It's going to top 80 degrees in Boston tomorrow.

Life, my friends, is good.

So I was watching the Sox game tonight on about a 15 minute delay because I had used my DVR to pause the game while I did some stuff around the house, ordered food, etc. I had only made it to the bottom of the second inning when the pizza guy rang the doorbell. I attempted to pause the TV again, only this time I accidentally hit the "On Demand" button instead.

I didn't realize this until I came back and saw the TV was not paused on the Sox game, but instead was showing me the crappy movies I can order for $3.99. I hit the "Last" button hoping by some miracle it would take me back to where I was. But oh no, it kicks me all the way to the live broadcast and you can't rewind with DVR if you have changed channels and then come back.

Suddenly it's the top of the fourth inning and the first thing I hear is, "...that was the first time in Red Sox history that they've hit 4 consecutive home runs!" Yeah, I missed the entire bottom of the third inning and only got to see all the homers (and Theo's adorable "Oh my God!") in replays.

Even though this was entirely my fault, I'm still finding a way to blame it on Comcast Cable.
