I still love you, Joe Mauer

So, Minnesota imploded. Not quite as bad as the Bruins did in the third period of Friday's game (just check the box score, ugh), but it was pretty bad. After Game 1, I had a feeling that was it. They were supposed to win that one. They had Santana on the mound. Santana, who hadn't lost at home all season. And when he just wasn't quite good enough, that put them at a big disadvantage, whereupon I thought to myself, "The Twins just lost the series." But congrats to the A's who advanced to the ALCS for the first time since 1992. I've been strangely drawn to that team for a few years now, and I think it's a combination of young, attractive talent and the mastermind known as Billy Beane.

I'm 0 for 3 on playoff picks so far. Let's see how the Cards game goes down tonight. I think I've decided to root against the Padres purely because of Rudy Seanez.
